Neolithic Boulder. Graphite and ink on paper 70 x 40 cm
Neolithic rock patterns remain a mystery to our modern eyes, but to me they suggest a knowledge of both the cosmos, and the quantum universe. I applied them to this body, which gleams like a rain slick boulder, to make the connection between our bodies and the universe over aeons.
Molecular Knowing. Coloured Graphite and Ink on paper 70 x 40 cm
Pattern is found everywhere in nature (eg in insect wings). I applied pattern to the surface of this body to highlight how every molecule of our bodies and of the world 'knows' how to become what it has to become. When we meditate we can sense this consciousness that pervades the whole universe.
Cosmic Serpent. Graphite on paper
Indigenous peoples use trance to connect to the 'consciousness' of plants and animals, and some scholars now believe that they are accessing the information within DNA (the cosmic serpent). Patterns found in aboriginal art often echoes the visions of the shaman who has accessed this universal knowledge.
